What are thread veins?

Thread veins are fine veins that can be seen through the skin. Threa veins tend to occur on the legs, face, cheek or nose. Smaller thread veins tend to be red in colour and the larger thread veins purplish. Thread veins are present in everyone but are not normally visible until they expand and show through the skin.

There are various reasons why thread veins become more visible for example; too much sun over time, pregnancy or an inherited problem. Thread veins also tend to become more obvious later in life as the skin becomes thinner with the veins are more exposed.

Thread veins are harmless and the majority of thread veins can be successfully treated with Veinwave™. This is a great treatment of thread veins on the face as well as other more sensitive areas of the body. Veinwave™ is also a more suitable method of treatment for patients with darker complexions.

Does Veinwave™ work?

Yes!
The great thing about Veinwave™ is that it really works. Veinwave™ is specifically designed to treat thread veins and spider veins and rosacea so yes it does indeed work. We advise clients that it does take a few treatments to completely treat and remove their thread veins depending on how many and where on their body, but in all individuals the thread veins are completely removed. They literally are destroyed by the Veinwave™ pulses.

Is the treatment painful?

No it is not painful.
It can be uncomfortable on areas such as the tip of the nose, but other than that it is a well tolerated procedure. If you find it uncomfortable at all we are able to use a numbing gel to ensure you are not in any discomfort during the procedure.

How many Veinwave™ thread vein treatments will I need?

We generally advise that optimal results occur after three treatments on mild thread veins in the facial area (generally on the nose and cheeks).

For rosacea (general redness of the face) we advise that 6 treatments normally achieve great results.

For leg and body thread veins, as the veins tend to be larger we again advise 6 treatments. The amount of treatments needed will always vary from individual to individual, but the result is always the same, the thread veins are completely removed.
